Alternatively why not consider buying a condo where there will invariable be a swimming pool, gardens, external maintenance, etc. and you all share these costs by way of a monthly charge.

This would be a much more economical way to go and there are some magnificent condos for sale from say $150,000 ( 94,000 ). Just a thought, why not get three other friends together and jointly buy a holiday home and spend three months of the year here and you will have your holiday home for 25% of the total cost?
